Preparing for the Prop 8 Ruling

Everyone’s organizing and getting ready for a reaction to the CA Supreme Court’s decision (good or bad). No matter what, we will use the decision day as a spring board for the movement at large encompassing rights beyond marriage in places beyond just California.
So here’s what you can do to prepare for the Decision Day:
- The decision will likely come out late May and the courts announce decisions on Mondays and Thursdays. They will give a 24 hour notice before announcing their decision. Their deadline is the first week in June.
- Be ready for action that night. For those of you in the LA area, we will be meeting in WeHo at Santa Monica and Vicente. (Though we at Roots are fans of extending actions outside of WeHo, we realize that a last minute action like this requires a homebase where the community can get together quickly for their response, and Santa Monica and Vicente is that base). Check out the Decision Day Facebook Page.
The decision will be followed by an action in Fresno where activists and citizens from around the state will Meet in the Middle and to push the movement on no matter what the court decision is.
